Helene Bracke Trio
A unique combination of mezzo-soprano Helene Bracke, cellist
Emmanuel Tondus and accordionist Bram Van Weverberg.
Today's program:
BIRDS ASLEEP
Birds Asleep carries you to a dream world with various bed-time songs, suites inspired by night birds and notes from the bedroom. Texts from ‘A Child's Garden of Verses’ by Robert Louis were put to music by Hans Vercauteren. This journey through drowsy thoughts is given a funny panache with a surprising song by composer Lente Verelst.
Notes from the bedroom, is a song cycle written by Serbian composer Milica Ilic. It’s a cycle about small, everyday things that pass our minds before going to sleep. Although seemingly unimportant, all these things are full of memories, smells, colours and meanings.
Music: Hans Vercauteren & Lente Verelst, Milica Ilic.
Texts: Robert Louis Stevenson, Milica Ilic.
